Who We Are
Serving God by serving others and sharing His resources in ways that provide opportunities for the disadvantaged.
We share resources and build partnerships to transform lives.
Our Mission
We serve God by serving others — sharing His resources in ways that provide opportunities for the disadvantaged, relief for the suffering, and encouragement in the growth and well-being of children and families. The Foundation hopes that the love of Christ is experienced in practical ways by those served.
The Rees-Jones Foundation story.
Jan and Trevor Rees-Jones established The Rees-Jones Foundation in 2006, feeling a conviction that God had blessed them as custodians of His resources. The belief that moved their hearts was simple: serve God by serving others and, in the process, enable others to experience the love of Christ in real, tangible ways. That calling became The Foundation’s guiding principle and lights our way forward today.
When considering where to direct funding, Jan and Trevor recounted personal stories that had touched them over the years – stories about individuals, especially children, facing urgent needs in areas we take for granted daily. Specifically, needs including child welfare and substitute care, medical care for children internationally, justice against sex trafficking in India, youth mentoring, services for children with disabilities, quality childcare, animal welfare, and others. Seeing how great the need was in North Texas, The Foundation decided to make its mark here.
“We have always known that our lives have been blessed by God beyond anything we deserved. As custodians of what He has provided, we are called to share our resources with those around us who lack the same resources. We want to use the resources in our custody in ways that are productive and that achieve sustainable positive outcomes. Sometimes just relieving someone’s immediate suffering or removing an obstacle that blocks an individual’s advancement is enough of a positive outcome for us.
There are problems in our world that we will not be able to fix in our lifetimes. But there is hope for the future and we want to do what we can to rekindle hope for those we assist. There are no strings attached. We do what we do in response to what He has done for us.”
